Important information – Crossing the border between Ukraine and Slovakia

avtobusnye-puteshestviya1

According to the requirements of the Slovak Border Police, crossing the border between Ukraine and Slovakia by a minor (any person under the age of 18) requires an adult who is authorized to accompany the minor.

A permit to accompany a minor must be issued by the legal guardians of the minor passenger (primarily parents) with the notarized signatures of both parents.

If a minor is accompanied by only one of the parents, a written authorization with the notarized signature of the other parent of the minor is required.

It is recommended to have the authorization in two languages (one of which is Slovak). A sample permit published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia can be provided by the bus driver.

Unaccompanied minors are not allowed to cross the border.

If the passenger refuses to provide the permit as described above, the minor will not be allowed to board.
